Pincurl Issues

Friday, 11 January 2013

It started out so swell!
I have issues. Okay, yes, I could totally end the post right there since I, like every other human being, have a range of different issues to combat every day. They range from the more mundane, like bad hair (which we will discuss today) to the more tragic, like frequent panic attacks. And while I'm in my head a lot and discussing all the different ways in which I consider myself to be a sub-par being...a discussion of the latter really wouldn't make interesting reading material for you lot!

I want to thank the 4 new readers to my blog that I have somehow gained very recently. Hello, welcome and I am very grateful that you have taken the time to subscribe, read and comment. It made my little heart swell!

Right. Remember how I was saying that I totally perfected the pin-curling thing in 2012? I may have lied a little. Oh, bah humbug, as if you never exaggerate the truth! No, no, said hair looks pretty damn fabulous, but only for a good 2 hours or so. That's the point when it turns into a droopy mess. And before you ask: yes, I do it on damp hair, sleep with it in over night, use setting lotion, use hairspray etc. It's enough to make a girl go a bit mental! Is my hair simply too thick? Shall I give up? Do you bewitch yours?

I've purchased some uber-cheap, cheap sponge rollers and shall see how that treats my rather modern locks...

Toodlelooo,

Nina

  1. Us girls we are always unsatisfied! Not always ... time for a nice picture and smile! The madness is part of our charm, right? And then I'm sure your hair is not so bad, my hair is that I'm a mess! ehehehh!
    Very nice blog!

  2. You're not alone in your pin curl struggles! My hair is very heavy and drags out most curls, so at the moment I can get nice Veronica Lake type waves, but no bouncy defined curls. I think sometimes you have to just work with what you've got. It's worth trying different methods though, so if you've not tried things like a drying hood (for your hairdryer) or doing the curls with hot tongs then I'd try that before giving up! I can never cold set curls myself, there always has to be heat involved.

Also, I'm not sure if you've seen this website, it's an Australian one that's fab for anxiety/depression, and although you have to register it takes seconds and is free:

    Good luck!

    1. Ooh, I'm not alone! I tried sponge rollers last night/today and it's already looking a whole lot better! And it was pretty comfy to sleep on.
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out when I'm on a proper computer. :)
